2nd China – CEEC Investment and Trade Expo

An important international forum, following the principles of Belt and Road Initiative and the Suzhou Guidelines, was held from 8th to 12th June in Ningbo, China. The 2nd China – CEEC Investment and Trade Expo embraced forums, exhibitions, investment symposiums as well as cultural and tourism exchanges.

Invitees from the host country and the 16 CEE countries cooperating with China arrived to further deepen the existing ties between the two regions.

Péter Szijjártó, Minister of foreign affairs and trade, Hungary visited the conference of trade ministers of China and CEE countries, held on 8th and 9th June. In his plenary speech the Minister emphasized that Hungary is committed to support the cooperation of the 16+1, considering it to be a win to win relationship. He stressed that the Eastern Opening will remain in the focus of Hungarian foreign policy.

The China – CEEC Tourism Cooperation Forum on 10th June placed a great emphasis to the introduction of the Central and Eastern European countries, as a target region for Chinese travellers to Europe. The forum gave a highlight to the introduction of the local investment environment as well. Hungary, as the Guest of Honour was represented by Iván Kovacsics, tourism attaché of the Hungarian Tourism Agency Ltd., seated in Beijing. In his opening speech Mr. Kovacsics extended on the development of Chinese – Hungarian bilateral relations, not failing to mention the results of the 16+1 tourism cooperation. The Forum was followed by B2B talks between Chinese and CEE businesses. where Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia.
